ISA: Financial Management of Cyber Risk

Tuesday, October 04, 2011

The Internet Security Alliance (ISA) presented its Executive Enterprise program on the Financial Management of Cyber Risk at the National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education (NICE) national conference at the NIST National Headquarters in Gaitherburg Md.

ISA President Larry Clinton was joined by former ISA Board Chair Ty Sagalow, ISA Chief outside counsel Tom Jackson and Ed Stull from DCR in a roll play illustrating how and why cyber events are often misanalyzed by organizations leading to financial impacts which can also be underestimated.

ISA outlined the lessons learned during its 3 year program in conjunction with American National Standards Institute (ANSI) on how to implement an enterprise wide risk management approach to cyber security.

The Internet Security Alliance (ISA) is a unique multi-sector trade association which provides thought leadership and strong public policy advocacy as well as business and technical services to its membership. The ISA represents enterprises from the aviation, banking, communications, defense, education, financial services, insurance, manufacturing, security, and technology industries. ISA’s mission is to integrate advanced technology with the realistic business needs of its members and enlightened public policy to create a sustained system of cyber security. www.isalliance.org
