At that time Bitcoins (BTC) were going for about $4.25 USD per coin.

As of Sunday June 17, 2012 they were trading at $6.26714 - a high of $6.52999 and low of $6.22130 check out –  — and possibly going up to $30 USD by Christmas 2012.

What are Bitcoins?

Bitcoin is a new digital currency. By using proven strong cryptography, a new currency has been created for the internet. One of the key features of Bitcoin is that it is an open system with no person or authority governs the currency.
